Frames is a collection of online short stories that pairs writer & designer to create an immersive storytelling experience. Each story is unique, blending text and graphic design that reflects and enhances the narrative. Frames is a passion project of mine that allows me to flex my creative muscle, challenging me to craft a new visual language and experience for each story.
The 1st Story
July’s June is a story about brothers exploring the California coastline. The goal was to create an organic feel that flowed from one transition to the next. Moments should not feel repetitive or have harsh line breaks to help the story move from scene to scene.
The 2nd Story
One to See, One to Kill is a story about tunnel rats in the Vietnam war. The goal was to create a visual language that captured the intensity and complexity of war through the use of bold imagery, intense color, custom photo effects, and strong typography.
More stories to come
Frames has been a long time in the making as it’s completely a passion project. Unfortunately, it gets a back seat to everything else going on in my life. The good news is that I have other stories designed and in development with the goal of releasing a story or two a year, so stay tuned because more are on there way.
